A shocking checklist has been sent from within the New Zealand College to its members, which lists how thoughts are to be framed, including to submit to “mana whenua”, that the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi is the “source of my rights as a non-Maori”, and even to “actively and vocally oppose the Treaty Principles Bill,” as well as “any other direspect toward the legal and political status of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.”
ACT MP Todd Stephenson was the first to alert the public in his X post:
Hobson’s Pledge trustee and spokesperson Elliot Ikilei has reacted to the manifesto, saying
this is yet another racial division being forced upon good men and women, in this case, who help mums bring babies into the world. This particular manifesto is particularly alarming in that there are clear directives on what a midwife is to think.
How does ordering midwives to obey a thought-directive such as “the crown is a Tiriti violation” help with nappies, ultrasound checkups, pre-natal classes and the like?”
The author Tina Ngata, is also known to be a significant supporter of transgenderism, Hamas and other far Left positions, but what is unclear is how such a document became an acceptable message to send to midwives across New Zealand.
Ikilei ended his response on the document,
Don’t let those writing these documents divide us.
We need a system where every Kiwi, no matter their background, gets a fair go.
He iwi tahi tatou means we are one people, and that is what Hobson’s Pledge stands for”
