Flagbearer Trial Adjourned Due To Conflict Of Interest

Waiarapa farmer Phil Engel was due to be in court today, facing a charge of Disorderly behaviour under the Summary Offences Act 1981, for walking in front of Te Pāti Māori’s ‘hikoi’ with the New Zealand flag.

Mr Engel, supported by political activist John Ansell, spoke to The Daily Examiner’s Elliot Ikilei leading up to the case:
